Nikki Sivils Day, BooVille and Blueberries

Today is my day on the Nikki Sivils blog for September.  On her blog I show my little mini album that I am calling BooVille.  I made the mini book from the house chipboard book and her Halloween paper line, called Boo-tiful.  Click here to get the story behind this mini book, look at the inside pages as well as information on how you could win a little Nikki Sivils prize.  

 

I also wanted to post a card that I made with Blueberry HIll.  I love the bright colors of this paper line.  It makes the best cards to say thank you or hi to a special friend.

Nikki Sivils and Bo Bunny projects

I've got two things to tell you about today.  First off I created a mini book and a card for the Nikki Sivils blog.  The mini book is going to be a graduation gift for my son who will be going on to middle school next year.  I know that he will enjoy having it to look back at in later years.  To see the whole album be sure to stop by the Nikki Sivils blog.

 

I also made a card using the Will He B the 1 line.  Love the stamp set that coordinates with the line.

 

I also completed another video for the Bo Bunny blog.  I created some jewelry charms with the rub-ons from the Sophie and Jazmyne lines.

Everyday Memories Mini Book

Here is a quick sneak peek of my next mini book class.

I will be teaching this mini book class at Scrapbook Mania.  The base for the mini book was created with an Accucut die designed by Cheryl Mezzetti who is one of the most talented people I have ever met.  Each page is a petal in the flower.  

I will be using Fresh Print Clothesline by Little Yellow Bicycle to decorate this mini album.  It is a gorgeous paper line and works so well in this mini.

Make sure to sign up quickly as there is a limited number of spots in the class.
 

Life, Discover Yourself Mini Album

This mini album was created for Scrapbook Mania's  Mar/Apr scrapbooking kit.  I was so excited to use some of Pink Paislee's newest products.  The pictures that I used were just ones that I pulled from my computer that were special to me for one reason or another. 

 There is no time line, just random pictures from different times and places.  I believe that I made do a couple more of these albums but make them contain a yearly snapshot.  I love the album.  It's easy to decorate and the 6x6 pages fit it perfectly so no cutting is involved.

 

I thought that 365 degrees lines went really well with my alphabet stamps so I did most of my journaling with them.  I have about 5 or 6 small sets.  They are perfect for mini albums and cards.

More stamps, and buttons and Maya Road chipboard tags.  I also love making pockets and tags in my mini book.  

 

This is a fun Unity Stamp.  I have used several of my Unity Stamps in the book.  This particular one was perfect for a list.

 

Life can be crazy so I included this page as a reminder to enjoy what I have, what I do, and what I love.

 

I made this tag for each of the kits.  It was really fun and simple.  I used some great background stamps from Glitz and a shipping tag.  The red dotted flower section was stamped with red ink on a piece of a shipping tag.  I loved the effect it gave.  It actually looks like real patterned paper.  After I completed the book I went back to assemble the tags and for just a second started looking for that piece of patterned paper.  Duh but cool.

 

There is a fine line between need and want.

 

The postcard is stamped on the Pink Paislee paper with another one of my background Unity Stamps.  I love them.

 

Another Unity Stamp and broke out the alphas again.  Pictures are of my dd.  These make me sad and happy all at the same time.

Tim Holtz film strip ribbon.  Wonderfully easy to use and it looks great!

 

Where Dreamers Dream, Hearts Whisper Loudly.  I don't know, maybe this is a quote that I heard or read before.  All I know is that it popped into my head and I wrote it down.  I love it!

 

 

I had to put a pleated ribbon flower in there somewhere.  I am really happy with how it turned out.

  
This is the back of the canvas album.  I took some of the left over ribbon and glued it to the spine and then added a page book mark.

A Turning Point and Class Samples

Throughout our lives will experience all sorts of turning points.  Some we choose ourselves, others are chosen for us.  Well, for me, today marks a turning point that both chosen by me and chosen by others.  It doesn't really matter what that turning point is but only that it makes me happy.  I will not be traveling as much as I have been in the last 6 months and, I and my family, are ready to get back to a more normal schedule.  

So in saying that I would like to share some information on 2 classes that I will be teaching this weekend in Perry, Georgia at the Paper Crafting Extravaganza.  If you are going to the Expo, which you really should if you live in Georgia or the surrounding states, please think about taking my class.  We will be creating some really fun projects.  My card class is a little heavy on the technique side and my mini book class is just plain fun and adorable.  I have been blessed to have two wonderful sponsors, Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker and Simon Says Stamps.

January Scrapbook Kit continued

Here is my last project using the materials in the January Scrapbook Mania scrapbook kit.  I used the remaining pieces in the kit to create a mini book.  I cut out the base with the Accucut and then embellished it with my left over Origin die cut cardstock tags and Origins rubons.  I created this book, not for pictures, but more as a journal to write down goals for the year.

 

I just love this cover.  I used one of the pieces in the Origins Die Cut Cardstock pieces. I think that this sentiment is absolutely perfect for the title of this mini book.   I adhered it to the green background circle and then onto the first chipboard page.

 

Action is my word for this year.  So far I feel like I am living true to my word.  I can't wait to see what I write on this page at the end of the year.
 

 

 

 

 

 

I also used the Basic Grey Origins rubons in green.  They are just beautiful.  Little gold gems were also included in the designs.

 

 

The little circle piece was made from a 7 gypsies stamp that was included in the kit.  There were 2 other designs that you could interchange on the self stamper as well.

Acrylic Mini Album featuring Cupid from Pink Paislee

I know that working with an acrylic album can be a little intimidating but hopefully I can give you some tips in the this post that will help you with your next acrylic album.

 

I cut out my title using vinyl.  The Silhouette cut all the details out so smoothly.  On the other side I applied adhesive behind the vinyl so my scalloped oval would stick but not adhesive would show through.
 

 

Here you can see that I cut out an picture to place on the other side of the scalloped oval shape.

 

One the rest of the pages I actually cut patterned paper for each page.  I used the same template just leaving the length longer on each successive page.  I cut the paper so that the scallops on the acrylic album were not covered retaining the look of the acrylic album but making it easier to hide all the adhesive.  I loved this quote.  I hid the adhesive on this underneath the gems and the button.

 

The blue heart paper is actually adhered to the page.  The above page show the back side of this double sided paper.  Using double sided paper is super handy when working with acrylic.

 

More vinyl and double sided patterned paper.  I attached it to the back side of the album just to give the front pages more of the look and feel of the acrylic style.  For the edge of this page I cut out a scalloped circle and then cut it to fit on the page.  That way the edge of my picture wasn't so noticeable.  Gems on the scallops was a nice extra touch.

 

Lots of scallops and gems.  I just love the look.  All of the materials used to decorate this album are from Pink Paislee's Cupid line.  

 

Almost the last page.  This time I cut out the vinyl and put it on the front of the page but picture on the back of the last acrylic page.

 

It's hard to tell but I sprayed some Smooch Spritz in Silver on the frame.  It helped it match with the glitter sticker letters.  Red letters from Making Memories and black letters from Pink Paislee.

Christmas Traditions Mini Album

Last week I promised some more views of the mini album that I am working on about my family's traditions. So what gifts are you making this year

Welcome to my weekly Embellish-it Online Scrapbooking design team post.  

I am working very hard this year to make it a homemade Christmas.  Everyone on my list is going to get something for Christmas that I have made.  It might be the packaging, it might be a mini scrapbook album full of memories, or a home decor item.  I would encourage all of you to join in.  These kinds of gifts are so appreciated by the receiver.  They know that you cared enough to take the time and effort to make something yourself instead of just picking something off the shelf.  Here are some ideas that you might try.

Gift Packaging

 

This cute little gift box was cut with an Accucut Die and then decorated with one of my favorite Christmas lines, Polar Expressions, by Imaginisce.  That cute little coffee mug filled with hot chocolate is a 3d dimensional sticker.  I am going to fill a bag with hot chocolate mix and put it inside.  I decorated the bottom and top with a scalloped edge and Stickles for a little sparkle. 

 

Isn't this paper just the cutest?   I just love all of the little images.  

Mini Scrapbook Album

A special person in my family will be receiving this gift this year.  This particular person does not enjoy going on the computer so I never have to worry about spoiling a surprise. :)  I love making mini albums.  I love how fun and creative you can be making them.  Today I will share a picture of the cover.  Stop by next Wednesday for a look at the whole album.  Again I used Polar Expressions and another set of dies from Accucut.

This is a mix it up mini album and the pages are all different shapes on the end.  I used my Bind-it-All to put it together and another cute little 3D sticker from the Polar Expressions line.  The title was created with American Craft's fabric Thickers.

Oh Christmas Tree

This project took me awhile but I finally finished it.  I am really happy with the way it turned out.  I saw this chipboard tree album from Maya Road decorated at their booth and wanted to recreate it. Thanks for the inspiration goes out to whoever it was that made the original.

 

 

 

 

I will tell you that the Basic Grey Precision file set came in handy for the inside of all those little scallops.  I was also able to use my 1/8 circle punch as well as my Crop-a-dile for the holes.  These pictures aren't the best but I put white ink and glitter on the snowflakes and also used some Ranger Silver acryllic paint dauber.  I was extremely happy with the shine that the silver paint had after it was dry.  On the bottom of the tree I used some Marvy Uchida snow pens.  Those are a lot of fun.  Paint it on and use your heat gun on it.  It puffs up and looks like snow.  

You are going to see this stand again in a future project.  I actually just used it because it was tall enough to hold my tree hanging but this 7 gypsies product is actually made for something else.  I hope you will come back and see it when I finish the other part.
