Another fantastic challenge from Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog today. The theme is Fairytales. So we want to to see what cards you can make with that theme. I chose the Magnolia Tilda with Apple for my card. Doesn't she look like Snow White. The challenge for me on this card was her black hair. I used my Copics to color it. I really had to work hard to make it look dark. It actually looks a little bit better in real life. Here is looks a little gray. I'll just have to try again.
The shape behind the image is a Spellbinders Labels #18 die. Since this particular set doesn't have sizes that make a small mat around the shape I decided to make my own. I just put the die upside down on a white piece of paper and traced around it and then cut it out. I will be using that trick more often. The flowers that you see are from Petaloo. They have a lot of flowers that are the perfect size and shape for cards. The red roses are actually a ribbon product that I cut apart. The white flowers are a new product and come in a lot of different colors. The leaves are pre-attached so they are ready to just stick and go.
I wanted to point out a little something special about my sentiment. I love the sentiments that have been released lately in the circles so I thought that I would try to make one myself to go with my card. I used Photoshop and it was pretty easy. The apple was from a WingDing font that I found called Krapple. All kinds of apples images in the font. Fun!
The ribbon is one from my stash that I folded over and adhered to the card. I like how the ruffles on both sides of the ribbon create a double ruffle when I did that. The twine is from the Twinery. Love it. I've got it in all different kinds of colors.
