It's my life

Another good read

I just finished another book the other night.  Wow, this book was really amazing.  Not only was it a great love story but I also loved the unique way that the book was written.  The book that I am referring to is  The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger.  It is about a man that can time travel and how his life and the life of his wife is affected by his ability.  You are immediately sucked into the characters and their triumphs and difficulties.  It is a truly beautiful story about love and happiness and making the most of life.  It's truly a must read!Here is a link to some of the reviews it got at Amazon.com.  ***Keep your mind open about the ending of the book.  I thought it was a totally appropriate way to end the book.  Life is what life is.  Let me know what you think.***

I finished it.

I just finished Lisey's Story by Stephen King last night. 

I hate finishing books.  Escpecially good books.  I mean finishing a story is good because you get to the end and you get to see how the whole story is going to pan out but then it's also bad because you are left with an empty space in your mind and soul. Because it's almost as if you have lost a friend.  Those characters in the story have become a part of you.  Someone that you can maybe relate to or would want to be like or even love and then poof! they are just gone.  Does anyone else ever feel that way?  But of course that doesn't keep me from picking up another book or longing for that connection to a writer again.  Stories are powerful things. 

Back to Lisey's Story though.  I really enjoyed this book.  I am a huge Stephen King fan and have always enjoyed his work but in the last 10 years or so I have been loving him even more.  Yes, this book has its scary stuff but nothing really over the top.  What I loved about it the most was that I felt that I saw a glimpse of his personal self in this story.  The book is about a writer's wife who is trying to deal with her husband's death.  As she is dealing with his death, she takes us back into their lives and their relationship.   The book starts out a little slow so give it a couple of chapters but in the end it is a very touching look at the bonds that form between a husband and wife, a son and his father, between siblings,  and how life is actually much bigger than we sometimes see it from day to day.  I would definitely recommend this book.
