Bo Bunny Blop Hop Winner

I want to thank everyone for all the wonderful comments that were left for the Bo Bunny blog hop.  I always have so much fun reading your responses.  It seems as if most people like to do some kind of outdoor activities and would be able to use the Roughin' It line by Bo Bunny in their scrapbook layouts.  So the randomly picked winner of the blog candy is number 51

I love the roughin it line - it was my favorite from that release. I grew up camping at every opportunity my family could find. We camped and hiked our summers all over Western Canada and NW USA. The memories I have are the best and I can not wait to share similar memories with my own young family.

Now on to a new card for today.  If you haven't tried a Just Rite Stamp before you really should.  They are awesome, fun to use stamps that have customizable features to them.  They come with outer rings and inner rings and those can be mixed and matched.  I have quite a few Just Rite Stampers sets.  They come in ovals, circles, squares, and now rectangular shapes.

For this card I stamped my image, colored it in with my Copic Markers and then cut it out using my Spellbinders dies. 

 

 

I've got some new things listed in my Etsy shop.  Please take a look at the side bar to see what I uploaded today.  I plan on adding many more things this week.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day and took some time to remember why we celebrate this day.  Thank you to all those that have served our country and made the ultimate sacrifice.  You and your families will be forever remembered and appreciated.

 

My Blog Candy Winner

I want to thank all those who left a comment on my last post.  I received a few tips but would always love more so please feel free to leave a link or tip on using distress inks to color anytime.  I would like to announce that Hazel Q won my blog candy.  Please send me your address and I will get you your fun package full of card making supplies.

This is a layout that I made for my $5 layout class at Scrapbook Mania.  One Tuesday a month I have 3 layout packages, all cut and ready to go, for $5 each and you can decide which ones you would like to create. You can stay and put them together or take them to go.  Just be sure to register for the class so that I have enough page kits ready for everyone.  It's usually a pretty quick and easy layout to put together but will also have lots of opportunities for individualization and embellishments.  I will be finishing my final touches on this one soon but a special feature of this layout is the canvas flowers that I cut out with a Tim Holtz die and inked with Glitz background stamps.  So amazing!

 

Isn't the Laundry Line by Little Yellow Bicycle just divine.  I love it's soft and pretty prints.  There is still some left at Scrapbook Mania so stop by soon to pick it up before it's gone.

 

Trying a New Technique and some Blog Candy

I love trying new things.  I love learning and researching new techniques that I can use in my craft.  This card is the result of that.  I have always wanted to learn how to color with distress inks and watercolor paper so the other day I gathered my supplies, checked out a couple of You Tube videos and started playing.

 

I definitely sees some areas that I need to work on but I was pretty happy with my results.  It was fun, new and different.  Here is a close up.

After a very busy weekend and after 2 baseball games today I finally got a chance to do a little crafting.  I chose a couple of Unity Stamp challenges and I would like to share this one with you today.  This challenge was to create something with birds or trees on it. You also had to use Unity Stamps.  I thought that this Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg line was perfect for the card and I had a lot of fun stamping and cutting the tree and clouds to build my scene.

Here is my take on the sketch.  This Willow Bee line is so much fun to use.  I just love those little bees.  They are so cute.  I've used the sunflower stamps before on a card but I just couldn't help using them again on this layout.

Oh My Goodness I Forgot

Okay, I have to say that I love giving Blog Candy away but I am the worst at remembering to announce the winner.  I have been out of town a lot this month and feel like I am barely keeping my head above water but things will be better in March when I will be traveling a lot less.  I can truly say that doing all of this traveling has been such a blessing.  Because of it, I have met some of the most wonderful people in the paper craft communities.

So, I won't keep you waiting anymore.  The question was, "What do you see 14 of on my layout?"  Everyone answered correctly.  Yes, it was the cute little raccoons.  Next time I am definitely going to make it harder. LOL!

The Challenge

You might have seen the Bo Bunny blog post  today kicking off their weekly Friday layout challenge.  I played along and created a sample of a layout that had 14 things on it.  I think that you will find this challenge both fun and challenging.  On my layout I kind of stepped out of my comfort zone.  I am usually a very linear scrapbooker but in this layout I tilted some photos, oh my, and used a lot of circles instead of squares.  But I did manage to put 14 of something on my layout.  So my challenge to you is to create a project that includes 14 things.  You can find more inspiration, ideas, and ways of doing this here on the Bo Bunny blog.  After you have created your layout, be sure to post it on your blog and link it on this above Bo Bunny blog post using Mr. Linky.
