Imaginisce Guest Designer for April Day 2

Hello again, today I am showing my last projects for my Guest Designer Spot for Imaginisce today!  Here are a couple sneak peeks but you can see everything over at their blog here.  I've created a layout and two cards.

Is he just not the cutest ever!!  I just had to use him on something so I went with another invitation.  

I just loved the Making Waves collection. The papers were all so pretty and fun to play with.  The summer colors were bright and just right for bathing suit pictures.  It certainly is a must have collection for all of your summer projects!!

There is a great giveaway on the Imaginisce blog too.  You will get some of the foam adhesive that I used on my projects.  It is really great stuff.  Just the right height and I love that there are all kinds of sizes or pieces that you can cut to what you need.  Check out the details here on the Imaginisce blog.

Lily Bee Designs Sketch Challenge #8

Down to the wire again, I am submitting my layout to the Lily Bee Designs Sketch Challenge #8.  I really loved this sketch.  It was simple and easy to do yet very sophisticated and trendy!!  Lily Bee Designs have such beautiful papers.  I love how they really let the pictures shine through!

Here is my layout. 

I used the Lily Bee Design Handmade Collection kit which has all of the papers, letter stickers and label stickers in it.  I also used the Index Jornaling cards from the Buttercup collection.  It's awesome how all of the lines work together.

I have to say that I took some chances this time and used a little Tattered Angels spray and some Glitz stamps and Tim Holtz Distress Inks.  I don't always "distress" my layouts but the paper and feel of the layout was just kinda of begging for it. I think it turned out great and I'm so glad that I pushed back the fear of ruining my layout and went for it.

SRM Stickers and Twinery Blog Hop and Giveaway!

Today I have a special project to share with you.  SRM Stickers and The Twinery have teamed up to bring you a fun two day blog hop with a ton of inspiring projects. I really can't believe how creative both teams were with the twine and stickers.  And to top it all off, there are great prizes to be won on both company's blogs so please make sure you check out the details at the SRM Stickers blog and The Twinery blog.

Here are my projects.  I designed a little gift grouping.  A card, a little notepad and a gift box, all with a strawberry theme which just happens to be one of my favorite fruits!  The strawberry stickers are from the  collection.  I placed them on white cardstock and then punched them out with a circle punch and mounted them on a colored scalloped circle.  The sentiments were cut from the SRM Sticker Sentiments, Thinking of You sticker sheets and placed on the blue patterned paper.  

I used the twine from The Twinery to stitch on my card.  I just love the look of handstitching.  It was really easy to do.  I just used my ruler and paper piecer to pre punch my holes on the cardstock.  Then I threaded the red twine and sewed the long stitches.  It is a lovely and fun texture in real life.

I also used the twine to close up my strawberry gift box and notepad.  The strawberry gift box was a Silhouette cut by Lori Whitlock.  It was really easy to cut and put together.  Just two pieces and a bit of twine to hold it together.

The notepad is just a little pad of notebook paper that I found at the office supply store covered in cardstock and then decorated with SRM stickers and some patterned paper.  I used my twine between the paper and the notebook paper so that it ties the notebook closed.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Day- Anything Goes for April

Wow, the year is flying by already.  I can't believe that the kids are starting to count down the days until the end of school already!!  I think it was the lack of winter and cold weather around here that has gotten me all bloggled in the mind about the time of year it is.

So today we have another great challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog.  It's the best time of the month because our theme is Anything Goes.  That's right, we want to see any of your beautiful creations that you have made this week starting today.

The design team has been issued an extra challenge and we would love for you to play along if you can.  We all used stamps from Paper Smooches.  If you haven't seen these stamps yet, you need to check them out.  They are the cutest stamps and have such fun characters and sentiments.  I have started my collection so you can be sure that you will be seeing them from me a lot more in the future. 

So here is my card.  I used the stamp set called Healthy Vibes.  I loved the sentiment!  Another thing I love about Kim Hughes's stamp sets are the "fonts" she uses for her sentiments.  Actually I am pretty sure it is her own handwriting.  Wish I could write like that!  Sooo cute!!

My card is farily simple but that is why Paper Smooches are so great.  You can make a very simple card with them that looks adorable.  Here I used the stamps for paper piecing the cup and spoon.  I popped the spoon up with foam dots and placed it all on multiple mats.  The paper is from the new My Mind's Eye paper line, On the Bright Side.

Kiss Me- Basic Grey Kissing Booth layouts

These are a couple of layouts that I created for my Basic Grey layout Kit Club.  Each month I teach a fun class where we create 1 double page layout and 2 single page layouts.  The double page layout is created by a member of the Basic Grey team and then I use the rest of the supplies to create the 2 single page layout.  We always have a great time and get a lot done plus the products are amazing to work with.

This class has been so popular for the last year it was completley sold out, but if you are interested in attending the club we now have 3 spots available for the next 6 month committment.  Just contact India Davis for more information.  You can also let me know too and I can get you pointed in the right direction too.  This class is held on one Thursday night a month in Hoover, (Birmingham), Alabama.

I always try to create one layout that is geared more towards girls and one that is geared more towards boys.  If I can, I will also create a double page layout or a card as a bonus.  There are always tons of embellishments left and usually some paper.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Day- Dawny's Sketch

 

Ready for another fabulous challenge from the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog?  I am, and so are the other designers.  We have a sketch challenge this week and had a lot of fun.  Here is the sketch created by Dawny!

I used a stamp from Stamping Bella called LuLu's Pies.  I love the LuLu stamps and plan on adding to my collection soon.

I need to give some credit to a special someone for this card.  It is not usual for me to CASE a card but while commenting on all of the wonderful cards that are linked to the Simon Says Stamp Challenge weekly, I came across this card and I just couldn't help myself. :) I think it is one of the cutest cards that I have ever seen.  I pinned it on Pinterest right away, bought the stamp and waited for a chance to make one of my own.  So thank you Steph at Honey Boutique.  You totally inspired me with your card and talent!

New Petaloo Colors

I know I have used this picture several times but when I was asked to use these Petaloo flowers with this paper, it just fit.  I actually created this 8x8 layout back in January for the Petaloo booth at the CHA Winter 2012 show.  I just realized that I hadn't shared it yet.

 

The new colors of these flowers are so beautiful and perfect for Spring and Summer layouts.  I had a lot of fun layering all of the different styles of flowers and embellishments.  The pink gem flourish is from Zva Creative and doily behind the picture was cut on my Silhouette.

The little ticket tag was created using my Tim Holtz ticket die.  I punched a heart in the middle and stamped the word love on it.  The title, You Are My Sunshine just pulled it altogether.

I am also going to leave you with a picture of some yummy cupcakes that I made this week.  I love to bake but with everything that is going on in my life, there is little time for it.  But Sunday afternoon, inspired by Valerie Salmon, who posted a picture on Facebook of some gorgeous cupcakes that she baked, I decided to put my scrapbooking aside and make some cupcakes. And they just happen to go with the colors of this layout perfectly.  So here they are.

You can't tell but I scooped out a little bit of the cupcake in the middle and filled it with the cream cheese icing.  The orange icing is flavored with orange gelatin which is also in the cupcake part.

Bee Happy

Today I wanted to share a little card that I did for Got Sketch 107.  There is still time to sign up and get all the sketches.  Here is the link.

I used the lovely Bella Blvd papers, Spring Flings and Easter Things to create my card.  I just loved that little bee so I just had to use him.  He is part of the cut ups paper and so is the rainbow.  The sentiment, Bee Happy, came from my SRM Stickers.  It certainly was a perfect match.  

The sunburst pattern that you see on the bottom was created using a technique by Valerie Salmon for Got Sketch 107.  She has created quite a few technique videos for the class and this was one of them.  I love how she takes a difficult task and finds a super easy way to tackle it.  I have learned so much just by being on her design team.  If you haven't taken a Got Sketch class than you are really missing out.

Petaloo Spring Dazzlers

Today I want to share a couple of cards that I created for the Petaloo blog.  You can read more about the details here. I used their newest Spring Dazzlers.  These dimensional stickers are so cute and always have the right amount of glitter to jazz up any of your projects.  

I've got to give a shout out to Kathy Martin at Card-Blanc who has got me hooked again on hand stitching.  She has the most creative ideas about how to use a needle and DMC floss.  You can see her tutorial here. The papers I used for both of my cards came from Country Drive by Echo Park.  I love their papers.  Their geometric patterns and fun themes are always in style!

Here is a closeup of the Bird Dazzlers.  Did I mention that they already have foam on the back of them so all you have to do is just stick them on your project, no adhesive required.

SRM Stickers- Spring Sports
