This week on the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog we have a totally different challenge for you. We want to know what your favorite tool is and for you to make a card using it. I recently got a new Silhouette Cameo digital cutting machine and I love it!! I've had the smaller Silhouette but the larger mat on the Cameo is so worth the upgrade. So I made my card using flowers cut from my Silhouette Cameo.
The flowers all came from one file from the Silhouette store and only cost me 99 cents. The file had all different kinds of sizes and shapes of flowers. I didn't have to do a thing but load the file onto the virtual mat and press cut.
Then after cutting them out, I had some fun with my Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists. I sprayed on the base color, dried it with my Ranger Heat Tool and then sprayed with a complementary color of Glimmer Mist. I gave it a final dry with the heat tool and then stuck the flower layers together with glue dots. As a final touch I attached some white pearls from Hero Arts for the centers of the flowers.
I finished off my card with some May Arts ribbon and Ranger's van Dyke Brown ink on the edges of the patterned paper. The title, "Wonderful You" came from two different Authentique word/letter sticker sheets. After I stuck them in place I used my Copic Black Multiliner to create faux stitching.
I hope you like my project this week and it will inspire you to show us what your favorite tool is. Just make a card and attach a link to this blog post and you could be in the running for a $50 gift certificate to Simon Says Stamp!! It's a fantastic prize and there is a winner every week! You never know, this week may be your lucky one. But you've got to create a card special for our challenge showing us how you use your favorite tool.
