Simon Says Stamp Stamptember Hop

For the second year in a row, Simon Says Stamp and Show & The Simon Says Stamp Challenge are joining forces to bring you a SUPER hop and treasure hunt to celebrate the approaching fall and winter holidays.

To help celebrate we will be giving a BIG BASKET OF CRAFTING GOODIES tothe winner of this hop! PLUS 3 $25 VOUCHERS to the Simon Says Stamp Store ! The vouchers will be the hidden treasure on 3 DT blogs and you have to find them.

 

The Blog hop will start at on August 31 st, 2011 on the Simon Says Challenge Blog

and will finish on September 5th, 2011 at on the Simon Says Stamp & Show Blog.

The theme for both challenges this week will be ANYTHING GOES. You can make anything you like … a card, an ATC, a Scrapbook layout … the possibilitiesare endless!

You will need to hop through each blog, find the little parcel of goodies and make a note on which designer’s blog you found them. You do not HAVE to comment on all the DT blogs but we would appreciate any comments you would like to leave. I created a pretty simple card for this anything goes challenge this week.  I used two products from Jillibean Soup.  The Blossom Soup mini papers and the cobrand stamp set with Unity.  I just love the way they match!  Another favorite part of this card is the die from My Favorite Things.  This set includes two of these scalloped circle dies in different sizes.  There is also a larger version and they all stack on top of each other.

Here is my take on Dawny's sketch!!  I followed the sketch pretty closely.  This week the design team is also showcasing Lawn Fawn stamps.  I had just ordered the Petite Floral stamp set by Lawn Fawn so I knew it was the perfect time to use it.  I love this set because there are many different ways to use the flower pieces.  Check out the Lawn Fawn design team's cards here.

Simon Says Stamps Challenge - Food and Drink

I'm loving the challenge on Simon Says Stamps Challenge blog this week.  It is to create a card that has some kind of food or drink in it.  I chose to use a favorite stamp from My Favorite Things.  Simon Says Stamp carries all of the Pure Innocence stamps and I am happily working on collecting them all. :)

I love how easy it is to paper piece the dresses on the Pure Innocence stamps and the 6x6 paper pads always have the right size patterns for this technique.  I also want to add that the design of this card was based on the sketch from the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club Challenge Week 32.  It's a great sketch so you might want to check it out.

Simon Says Stamps Challenge - All White

We've got a great challenge for you this week on the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog.  The challenge is to make a card that is all white except for the stamped image.  It was a lot of fun because I didn't have to worry about what patterned paper to use.  I concentrated more on the different textures and shapes of the cardstock.  I was very pleased with the results.  

 

I first used the Polka Dot Cuttlebug folder to emboss the background paper.  Then I used the Textile embossing folder to texturize the inner circle and then cut it out with a Spellbinder's circle nestabilities.  Then I cut out the outer circle from the Spellbinder's Lacy Circle die.  The circles were adhered to the background with pop dots for even more dimension.  Simple layers made for a really quick and easy card.

Simon Says Stamps Challenge - Christmas in July

Are you ready for a new challenge?  This week's challenge at Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog will help you get your Christmas cards started which is a good thing because truthfully the holidays will be here before you know it.

So this week we are challenging you to create a card with a Christmas theme.  Here is my card.  I used stamps from Hero Arts which you can buy at the Simon Says Stamp Online Superstore along with other supplies that I used to make my card.  I love the cute little houses that are in this Sending Holiday Cheer set.  

Do you see the tree stamp?  It's really easy to mask your house and stamp the trees around it to create a forest.  The sentiment is also the perfect font and size to use on cards.
