Simon Says Stamp Challenge Day- Time to Party/Celebrate

Another Wednesday challenge for Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog is up.  This week we are looking for cards that are have the theme of parties and celebrations.  I have mixed some old and new stamps on this card as well as some Hero Arts and Magnolia.  

The pennants were stamped with a new stamp set called Friendly Flags from Hero Arts. I stamped each of the pennants twice in Bashful Blue ink by Stampin Up! and Punch Chalk ink by Hero Arts and then cut them out.

  

This set was one of my favorites from the new catalog.  
I also used this new stamp from Hero Arts. It's called Happy Definition and it's a large background stamp. I love the way it looks stamped in Bashful Blue on the Bashful Blue cardstock.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Day- Merry Christmas

The clock is ticking and I still need to do lots of things but I am just not going to sweat it.  It's really not all about that anyway and I was reminded of that today while speaking with a friend.  It's all about time with family and friends. It's about telling people you care about them and that you are there for them if they are in need.  It's a time to reflect on what's right and good and if you've done your part to make a positive difference.

This week's card was made with love for someone special.  Someone who makes all these weekly challenges and prizes possible.  I want to thank Heidi from Simon Says Stamps from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful opportunities that have been given to me by being on the design team.  I work with such wonderful talented ladies and also have seen such fantastic work submitted by our participants.  I know that 2011 is going to be just as big and fun!!

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Day- Silver, Blue, White and Penny Black

Yeah, today is Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog day.  The challenge is to use blue, white and silver on your card.  The design team also used a Penny Black stamp so if you have one then please join us with that as well.

Wow, that is a lot of product.  They will also pay the shipping charges.  So get your card making supplies out and get creating!

The Penny Black stamp that I used is called FROSTY.  Simple and sweet, I love it!!  It was actually really easy to color too.  I just swiped my Copic markers B000, B00, B01 on the sides of the snowman and under the snow and it looks great.  I cut out the image with my circle Spellbinders die and mounted it on a scalloped circle Spellbinders die that matched my circle cut out of silver paper. I also used my sewing machine to add some stitching around the edges of the circle die cut and base of the card.

For the background snow, I adhered pieces of white grosgrain ribbon onto white cardstock and the cut it into a snowdrift before attached it to the base card. Then I put some Stickles silver glitter glue along the edge.  

The sentiment tag was first cut with my EK Success large slim line tag punch and then was stamped in VersaMark Dazzle and embossed with Ranger Silver Embossing Powder.   Then I used my Sakura Quickie Glue Pen, ****LOVE THIS ADHESIVE/TOOL!!!****, and drew a line around the edge of the and sprinkled Martha Stewart silver glitter on it.

The last embellishment that I created was the snowflake.  I used my EK Success Large Snowflake punch on white cardstock and then glued Martha Steward silver glitter to the piece using the Essential Glue Pad by Tsukineko. Then I topped it with another snowflake punched with a smaller Martha Stewart snowflake punch and attached a gem to the center.

12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop Giveaway Day 3 &4

I want to share with you a card that I created for the December Card Kit for Scrapbook Mania.  This was a special kit which included two Magnolia images.  For the card, I masked the two images together and then colored them.  These two stamps put together made a very LARGE focal image so I made this into an easel card so that I add some embellishments to the bottom.

12 Days of Christmas - Day 3

Oh my goodness.  As I write this post, it is snowing in Birmingham, Alabama.  It's just flurries but so very pretty all the same.  I hope that it gets a little heavier later in the day.

So today is Day 4 and I've got another giveaway to announce.  But before I do that let me do some mild enabling.  The Hero Arts Catalog has been revealed and Simon Says Stamps has the new stamps in and are ready to be shipped to your home.

These cute little pennants will be so cute on layouts and cards. I can't wait to get these in my hot little hands. 

Definition stamps have always been a favorite of mine but I love the smaller size of this set.

It's easy to make your own book page paper with these large definition background stamp.

The last three stamps are bird themed.  I just love the artwork on the following three stamps. These are going to be a great addition to my collection.

Christmas is coming soon...

I can almost smell it.  We put up our trees tonight.  We are getting a little bit of a late start this year but that's okay.  This year I am trying to slow down and enjoy our family traditions and just have fun.  Some years I think that I stress too much about the things that really have nothing to do about the reason for Christmas.  So in the spirit of Christmas I will be doing something special on my blog.  You will have to stop back by tomorrow for the big announcement.  The big kickoff post will be at 10:00 am CST and I will give you all the details then.

Until then, here is a little project that I made to decorate my Christmas gifts.

I love making Christmas tags and so I gathered up some of my tag stamps and started working away.  This is the first tag that I made.  

 

The stamp is called Holiday Tags and is by Hero Arts.  I colored it in with my Copic markers, gathered a little crepe paper and stuck it together with a paper circle and some scalloped circles cut from my Spellbinders dies.

Quick and easy but oh so cute.  See you tomorrow.

 

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Day- Christmas Card No Red or Green

Usually, I make my Christmas cards in traditional red and green colors but this week's challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog has made me shake things up a bit.  I thoroughly enjoyed creating this Christmas card using the colors pink and blue.

The paper on my card is from Cosmo Cricket's Delovely line.  I used 3 different papers from the 6x6 pad. After I colored my Magnolia image, Mistletoe Tilda, with Copic markers I cut it out using my Spellbinder's die Label 4.  Then I adhered it to some dark pink cardstock and hand cut out a small border around the shape.  

The flowers are from Petaloo's wedding collection and one of them I colored pink with my RV04 Copic marker and airbrush system.

For my sentiment I used a Just Rite Stamper and then cut it out with some circle punches from EK Success.
