I experimented with a few things when creating this card. I really love to get my stamps out and just see what I can do with them. I just love these NEW Real Leaf stamps from Hero Arts. I knew that they would be perfect to use for this challenge. Then I decided that I wanted to see how I could stamp them in different ways to use them for different parts of the card.
I know it is hard to tell but the leaves in the background were stamped on plain vellum. I used Tim Holtz distress ink to stamp them. I used three different colors- Rusty Hinge, Fired Brick, and Spiced Marmalade. Some of the leaves I started with the lighter Spiced Marmalade and then inked the edges or parts of the stamp with the other colors. I tried to alternate the main colors on each of the stamped images.
Then I cut a piece of white cardstock and colored the edges with Wild Honey progressively inking lighter as I moved toward the center. I left a very light area in the center which caused the highlighted area. Then I applied Rusty Hinge to the edges of that cardstock mat. The next step was truly an experiment. I smeared some Glossy Accents on the back of the vellum along the edges and inward a bit. When I laid the vellum on the inked cardstock the Glossy Accents stuck tighter to the inked areas which gave it a really cool look.
After that I matted the base on red, adhered it to a kraft card base and put some gold glitter glue around the edge of the vellum.
The leaves were stamped and embossed on Ranger Inkssentials Glossy Paper that had been inked with the same Tim Holtz colors as mentioned above. Then I cut them out and rubbed Vintage Photo all over them. The stamped ticket is a Tim Holtz stamp from the 100th set called Odds and Ends and was stamped in Rich Cocoa Momento Ink and Fired Brick Distress Ink.
