Simon Says Stamp Challenge Day- Going Dotty

Yeah, it's Wednesday, so that means a brand new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog.  This week's theme is Going Dotty.  Dots are hot, so the challenge is to incorporate dots into your card design whether it be the paper, the stamp, the embellishments, anything.  The Design Team is also featuring Prima flowers so if you want to add some on your card that would be great but it is not required.  

The prize, of course, is fabulous!  A random winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to the Simon Says Stamp online store and Heidi and the girls are at CHA right now picking out all the new products that will be filling the store in the next couple of weeks.  Wouldn't that be fun!!  New releases in your hot little hands, for free!

Well here is my card for this week.  I love this Mermaid stamp called Reef Weaver from C.C. Designs.  Simon Says Stamp carries them all.  So if you like me and had to have them all, hop on over to the Simon Says Stamp Online store and get yours.  The sentiment is by Amy R. for C.C. Designs and is part of the Beach Sentiment Set witch has a ton of beachy sayings.

 

As I said earlier we are spotlighting Prima Flowers this week.  I love how in this card they look like they were surrounding her on the ocean floor as she swims.  

Here is a closeup.  I used my Copics to color her in and then sprayed the overall image with Smooch Spritz in Vanilla.  That color is my hands down favorite sparkly spray.  It is a little distracting when you take a photograph with it on your image but irl it is gorgeous!  I also used Olivia, the new paper by Basic Grey to design my card.  This paper is gorgeous and a must have.  Love it!

Got Sketch #102

Valerie has a new sketch on her Got Sketch blog today.  It's a fabulous sketch.  One thing that I noticed first off about this sketch is that you don't have to use a lot of paper, which is great on the scrapbooking budget. On this layout I used only three pieces of double sided paper and the sticker sheet.  They are from the new Fancy Pants line, Like Father, Like Son, which I love.  

Does this look like an 11 year old boy to you?  Of course not, but I just can't believe he was this little once and that the time has flown by so quickly.  Luckily for me, he is still just as sweet and will always be My Little Man.

Petaloo's New Summer CHA releases

Well CHA is almost here and I am sure you have seen a ton of sneak peeks of what will be released.  Well I've got my own sneak peeks to show you. These projects were created for the Petaloo CHA booth.  I was given the opportunity to use the newest line of Dazzler Glittered sheets paper and Holiday Dazzler embellishments.  The gingerbread boy and girls are so cute and really make me smile.  They are foam dotted on the back which gives a great 3D look to your cards.

My next card shows more of the new Glitter paper colors plus the new fall glitter embellishments.

 

This glitter paper by Petaloo is gorgeous and so easy to cut with my Spellbinder dies.  The turkey is one of the new glitter critters and is also foam dotted on the back so you can adhere him in a snap!

Catching Up

First I would like to let you know that I've got an article that is posting today on Craft Critique.  I had the awesome opportunity to write a review of the Wacom Bamboo Craft Tablet.  It is a fabulous product so please be sure to check it out.  I've got a lot of great information on some special uses for it.

Since I haven't posted in some time I have a lot of catching up to do.  I'm so happy that I can finally share a layout that was requested for publication in the UK magazine Scrapbook Inspirations. The magazine can be found at Barnes and Nobles in the magazine section and on the Scrapbook Inspirations website.  It's really a wonderful magazine.  So many beautiful layouts and tons of inspiration.

 

I love this picture of my daughter.  It was a picture that I took while I was experimenting with black and white film.  I can't believe she was only about 6 years old and now she is days away from 18.  The layout was created using the Heiress Collection by Marah Johnson for Creative Imaginations and flowers from Petaloo.  I also dyed the ribbon with Glimmer Mist and used a special technique using UTEE and Glimmer Mist to embellish the butterfly.
 

Petaloo has a great release coming out at CHA Summer 2010.  The new flowers are gorgeous so look forward to some great projects by the team.  Ask for them at your local scrapbook store too.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Day- Martine's Sketch

We've got another fantastic challenge for you this week on Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog.  Martine has created a wonderful sketch for you to work with.  You can see the sketch here.  

For my card I used this gorgeous stamp by Sarah Kay.  Her little face is so sweet and the detail in her hair, clothing and garden are just priceless.  There are so many different ways you can color her.  On this card I went for a subtle look to match the beautiful Basic Grey Cappella paper.  I used Copic markers to color her in and the Copic airbrush system to apply a light blue halo around her.

Don't forget there is a weekly winner of a $25 dollar gift certificate to the Simon Says Stamp online store that is picked randomly from all those that participate in the challenge.  Wow!

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Day- Let's Get Fruity

Hello all!!  I'm back from vacation but brought home with me a nasty cold that I can't seem to shake so I am going to keep it brief.  :(

We've got a new, wonderful, and fun challenge on the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog today.  We've named it "Let's Get Fruity".  So that means that this week, we want to see you all getting fruity.  We want to see FRUIT in all your creations whether it be on the papers you use, the image, a charm, buttons - the choice is yours.

Upload your creations to the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog and of course a random winner from the entries will be picked to receive a $25 gift certificate to the Simon Says Stamp online store.

 

Here is my card for this challenge.  I just loved the new Fairytale collection and had to have Tilda with Apple  looking like Snow White since I am a huge Disney fan.  

 

I just realized that I was supposed to use Basic Grey paper but I guess I missed that part of the instructions.  Can I blame it on my cold?  :)  So instead I used this lovely Bayberry Cottage paper pad from Pink Paislee.  I love the little 6x6 pads.  I rarely make a card with out using them because I love the patterns are just the right size for the small card format.  So if you thought that Simon Says Stamps only sold stamps, think again.  They sell anything and everything that you need to make for papercrafting.  So check out all of the great papers and embellishments that they have to offer.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Day- Photo Inspiration

Well, I am having a fantastic day in sunny Sarasota, Florida visiting my family. We will be here until next Monday so if my posts are a little sparse you'll know why.  It may rain a little this afternoon but right now it is beautiful.  Perfect day to sit on the pool deck and sip a few of these while we watch the kids play in the pool.

  

While I do, I want to tell you about this week's fantastic new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog.  The challenge is called Photo Inspiration so to enter you need to create a card that is inspired by this fun, fresh, beautiful photo. Your inspiration can be anything.  The color, the drink, the ice, even the little umbrella.  Here is what I created.  I think I used a little bit of everything in this card.  

For this card I used an exclusive stamp set only available at Simon Says Stamp.  This stamp set, called Relax Vacation, is so adorable and has many different stamps, including sentiments, to complete your card. Besides the stamp images that you see here there is a castle, a pelican, a beach ball and about 9 fun summer related sentiments.  There are many other stamp sets that are exclusive to Simon Says Stamp that you should check out.  They are all clear cling and contain multiple images and sentiments.

Another favorite of mine is the Savor Sweet Cupcake set.  So cute and so fun to use.

Bo Bunny Layout Challenge

Do you love challenges?  I do.  Something about a challenge just gets me going.  Well Bo Bunny has a layout challenge that they issued today.  It is an amazing sketch and I had so much fun working with it.

Card Making with Nikki Sivils Products

I really love making cards.  I never used to.  I was a die hard scrapper and that's all that was important to me.  Then I attended my first Stampin Up! party.  The hostess made such cute little cards and gifts so fast and easily.  Yeah, I got hooked.  So I started creating cards with stamps, and then I heard of Paper Crafts Magazine.  Well the end result is easy to guess.  I am happy to say that I am a Paper Crafter. That sorts of says it all right?

So today I would like to show you the cards that I created with paper and embellishments by Nikki Sivils.  I am actually only going to show you one because I want you to hop over to her blog and read the challenge that I have given and see the other two cards I made.  The challenge is a fun and easy one and there is a prize to be won.  Yeah!
