School Days

I think I have finally found a school paper that I like.  It's actually not school paper but Cosmo Cricket's The Boyfriend line, but it's got some very cool school themed papers in it.  I think I like the red testing paper the best and that background paper is very cool.  You can find these papers and more at Embellish Online.  

They also carry tons of American Crafts Thickers. Click on the link to go to the Embellish-Online store to see them all. I have used two different sets on this layout.  The brown felt numbers and the yellow vinyl letters that spell "School".  There is just something about that little bit of dimension of Thickers on a page that make me like them so much more than sticker letters.

You might also noticed the stamping on this layout.  The numbers in a row is a stamp block called Numbers from Unity Stamps.  I love their stamps.  They really have a wonderful unique selection.  Just perfect for both scrapbookers and card makers.

Do you also see the tiny little staple?  That is from Tim Holtz's line and is called the Tiny Attacher. It is so cute and fun, you are sure to want one.

This Weekend I...

This past weekend I taught some very nice ladies how to use their Copic Markers.  They were so fun to work with and very talented with their markers when they got started.  We spent most of the day together and we talked about the markers themselves, how to refill them, how to blend them, techniques of blending and what colors work well for skin tones, hair and clothing.  I love showing people new things.  I love their faces when they realize, Yeah, that's pretty cool!  I can do this."  If you are interested in taking a Copic class from me please email me and I will let you know when the next class is.  If you have a group of friends, 5 or more, that are interested we can schedule a special Copic party for you all on a date of your choosing.

I remember when I first started using Copic markers.  It was such a thrill to use them.  I remember wanting all of them and wanting them now.  Well I do have a pretty good stash going but I am no where near to having them all.  At this point I am focusing on purchasing the refills as some of my favorite colors are going dry.  

Besides teaching Copic classes I have been working on all kinds of different things.  One of these you might have seen on the BoBunny blog.  Our challenge and the one we are extending to you is to create a 2 page layout.  Now many of your might do these often but I tend to stick to the one page layouts more.  The 12x12 space just seems easier for me to design with.  This 2 page layout is based on a sketch created by design team member Rita.  Using a sketch made it a lot easier and I really love how it turned out.

Here is a closeup of each page.  These pictures were taken by a dear close friend who first encouraged me to learn more about photography and to start my own photography business years ago.  Her daughter and mine are close in age and they have been friends since they were very young.  

Isn't that flower rub on gorgeous.  I also added some bling too.  I love how my pictures look great with this paper line.  I took the original files and applied an action from the Pioneer Woman action set to give them that soft and faded look.

So here is my treat for you.  Actually I have two.

If you are having a Halloween party you will need to have some ideas for treat bags and decorations.  You can quickly put these cute little gable boxes together and decorate them with paper.  Place cards with the kids names or fun Halloween sayings like the one above will look great as accents pieces.  I just loved the fun colors and patterns in the new Halloween line from American Crafts.  Don't forget to use the code word Glitter when you purchase your product at Embellish-it Online for a 20% discount.

Then after the festivities you will want to document everything with a layout.  Here is a quick layout for you to put together using the amazing American Craft Halloween papers and American Craft Hocus Pocus glittery chipboard letters.

So here is my trick.  To save on cardstock, especially when I only have one piece left of the color I need and I want to use it as an accent piece, I cut out the middle of the paper and then lay my patterned paper on top of the cutout.  Usually I cut out of the middle a 10x10 piece so I have a big enough piece to work with if I want to make a card or run it through my Cricut or Silhouette which I did here to make the pumpkins.

A Card in 30 minutes or Less

One of the great things about loving paper, stamps, and embellishments is that you can make a card for any occasion.  But the thing that I love the most is that I can make one quick if I am in a pinch.  I can't tell you how many times I have thrown together a gift card holder or a quick birthday card for a child in less than 10 minutes.  The following card was made for a challenge on Embellish Online.  The challenge was to make a card in 30 minutes or less.  Using this paper from Cosmo Cricket made this challenge super easy.  I just loved the hanging clothes that I had to make something to go with the theme.  Please join us in our challenge at Embellish Online by uploading your card to the gallery.

It's the Season of Gift Giving

I just love giving gifts and I really love it when I can package them in fun, unique ways.  So here is one idea for those special people during the holiday season.

I used rubons from this beautiful new Winter line by Moxxie to decorate the coffee bag.  Then I decorated a scalloped circle punch out with a stamp from Paper Trey Ink and attached it to the bag with pop dots.  You could fill this bag with almost anything.  Candy, cookies, bottles of lotion, or candles.  

The card was created using a piece of the patterned paper.  The snowman appears in the bottom corner of the back side of the background paper I used for this picture.  He is so adorable and it was so easy to use him as a design element.  On this card I used Just Rite Stamps for the sentiment along with some Spellbinder Dies and added some Prima bling.  A very sparkly snowy winter card to go along with your gift bag.

Too Cute 2 Spook

So many things to share but I find that when I am finally able to sit down at my computer and blog I am too tired.  Go figure.  So how about a quick post with a little Pink Paislee. I just love this line.  Do you see those fabric patches.  Ohh, I hope that there is more of that to come in future lines.  

This is Brett in his first Halloween costume.  He is about 10 months old in this picture.  My mom made this costume for him.  She is incredible with a sewing machine and put every little one of those ribbons on that costume.  He was so cute.  

Do you need some gift packaging ideas?  Tomorrow I will share a few that I have made using small coffee style bags.

Bo Bunny Christmas in September

Today the Bo Bunny Design Team showcased some fantastic projects using the new Christmas lines.  You will be stunned by the beautiful projects that are showcased on the blog.  Please go and check them out and let me know which you want to try.

Here are two projects that I completed.  I just recently got the new Winter Woodlands Cricut cartridge and was itching to make some of the village houses.  I used some Double Dots paper for the base and some of the Tis the Season paper for the accents and trees.  I was excited that the stars were the perfect bling to top the church and the trees.

My second project is a card.  I just love how quick and easy it is to put together a card using the label stickers in each line.  I also am head over heels in love with the double dot ribbon.  I have probably said it before but double sided ribbon, Yeah!!!

I have been working on so many projects lately.  I will be sharing some fun Moxxie creations tomorrow.  Have a wonderful day!

It's a Moxxie sort of Day

I have some yummy Moxxie material to share with you.  Football has started and Moxxie has just the paper line for you to do some fabulous fun layouts.  

It's hard to tell but this layout consists of paper, pictures and a lot of fun stickers.  Play Hard was created with alpha stickers and the other words and images besides the football, helmet and title Football was created with cool graphic stickers.  I loved how I could really play up the linear graphic feel with the rectangular and square shaped stickers.  I just love this picture of my son.  It's just all him.

A Little Challenge

Today I saw a challenge on Let's Scrap that I thought would be a lot of fun to do.  For the challenge you had include the color orange and you had to create a layout that showed pictures of things that told something about you.  Well I have always been a big reader and have some very favorite books and authors so I created my layout about them.  

I wanted my layout to have sort of a office, bookish feel to it so I decided to use some of my DT paper from Embellish-Online.  This Cosmo Cricket line, Boyfriend, is awesome.  I love the bold stripes, and the ledger paper.  It was the perfect backdrop for my pictures.  I wish I had saved the text in the journaling box to post here but I deleted it thinking that I would need it again. I just journaled about my love for reading and my first favorite authors and books.  Anyone remember the Nancy Drew series?

I've just started doing some of the challenges and sketches at Let's Scrap and it's been a lot of fun.  This one is tagged challenge14 if you decide to go there and take it on.
