Mini Album

Here are some of the pictures that I promised last week of the little mini album that my hostess club members created last Sunday.  It was a big project but they all stuck with me and helped each other out.  I think it is safe to say that there was fun to be had by all.  If you are interested in joining our hostess club now is the time.  Our new group starts in February and we would love to have you.  Membership committment is only to buy $25.00 of merchandise per month for up to 10 months and then one of those months you will receive the hostess benefits.  It's simple and fun and who couldn't stand to get a little free stuff now and then.

Sneak Peek

Well, before I get to the sneak peek I want to post another card.  I just love the Priceless stamp set.  I have made so many cards with it and I just don't tire of it.  I think the swirls are my favorite blocks but then I really love the flower, heart and butterfly images too.  A note about the color combination.  Normally I wouldn't have put these colors together but I saw this color combo in the SU! catalog and I knew I wanted to try it.  Check it out on pg. 108-109.  What you see on my blog is not the best lighting so it looks much better irl.

Now for the sneak peek.  This Sunday I am having my monthly hostess club meeting and I have promised them a scrapbook activity.  Well I put together a mini book and I am going to show a sneak peek of it here.  I am really excited about this mini book because I used some great new patterened paper from Stampin Up! and I love a couple of the elements that I included on the pages.  As a side note, I am also taking a class by Jessica Sprague, called Now We're Rockin With Photoshop.  I wanted to see if I could pick up some tricks from her and become a better digital scrapbooker.  So I applied the technique I learned this week in class to the photographs below.  I actually already knew how to do this but as in everything in life (or Photoshop) there are a million different ways to do the same thing and so I learned a new and improved way of selective coloring of photographs.

Next week, after the club meeting, I will show you the full version of the mini book, in color.  Kits are available for purchase, stamped or unstamped.

Snow Day in Alabama

Okay, first off I will say that I know I have been a bad blogger.  Nothing in over a month.  It's not that I haven't had anything to share, I just needed a little break.  The holidays were good but busy and so I feel like I have been playing catch up for so long.  I've got lot of great cards to show you so I guess I better get busy.  But first before I talk about all the cool Stampin Up! news I am going to share a couple of pictures from yesterday.  We had snow in Birmingham, Alabama yesterday.  It was fantastic.  It was just a couple of inches but it was so pretty.  The kids had a ball and even had a chance to "sled" down the hill in our front yard.  I love this picture.  Brett is just loving the snow.

Okay, on to Stampin Up! stuff.  The new catalog is out and it is fabulous.  There are so many stamps that I want.  I think my wish list is 3 pages long.  Well I have started working on it and here is one card that I made using the stamp set A Little Birdie Told Me.  This set is so versatile.  There are all kinds of sayings in here.  One for birthday, feeling under the weather, getting married, etc.  7 in all.  Then you get this cute little bird in two sizes and some accessories.  You can truly have some fun with all the combinations.
