Holiday Gift Giving Ideas

Sometimes you just need some new ideas for gifts for friends or family members.  Well I've got some great ideas to share with you. 

A Bucket of Stamps
Give the gift of stamps and accessories to help get them stamping.  Nothing is more fun than sitting down with a girlfriend talking and stamping the afternoon away.  Help them get started with a gift basket full of stamps, markers, ink pads, paper or other accessories and a date for a stamping get together.

Personalized Stamps
Another great gift idea is personalized stamps.  Stampin Up! offers many varieties of personalized address and stationary stamps.  Pair it with a black ink pad and some envelopes and paper and you've got a great unique gift idea.   Order early though as these may take about 2 weeks to arrive.  Check out the font and image styles offered by looking at the Stampin Up! catalog online.

Christmas Cards Class and other SU! News

Hello all.  I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and got to spend some time with family and friends.

Hostess Club Sunday

I held my monthly Hostess Club meeting today.  We always have so much fun during our meetings.  Here are some pictures of the projects that we worked on today. 

The first card that we created used Stampin Up!'s Build A Brads.  We also learned a new masking technique using a brayer.  Here are the steps to create this cool effect.   Stamp your image with Versamark on glossy cardstock.  Then emboss with clear embossing powder.  To create the effect you will need two different colors of ink.  I used Bashful Blue and Brocade Blue.  Then using a brayer put a layer of  the lightest ink all over the cardstock.  Then cut out the masking pieces.  I used 3 different size circles.  Place the circles on top of your design.  Then put a layer of the darker ink all over the cardstock.  Peel back the masks and you will see the effect of this technique.

The next project was a gift card holder.  This was a quick little project that used the stamp set Tags For All.  I just love all the tags in this set.  They make the cutest little tags.  We used Watercolor Wonder Crayons to color the stamped images.

The last project was a mini scrapbook.  This was a fun quick project that holds about 6-8 photos.  This would make a great Christmas gift to a family member or friend.

Christmas is coming

I just love this little Santa stamp.  He is part of a Christmas stamp set that is in the current Holiday mini.  You still have time to buy this set.  The catalog does not expire until the end of November.  Let me know by emailing me if you would like to order this. This cute little card is now in my Etsy shop as well.

Have you heard about the great paper special that Stampin Up! is running.  Buy 3 get one free.  It will be going on until November 30th.  This is a great deal. 

The new catalog will be here before you know it.  It arrives January 1st.  That means that some of the stamps and accessories in the current catalog will be retiring.  The retired list will be coming out December 1st.  If you are interested in getting this retired list please let me know and I will send you the PDF as soon as it is released.

I will be having a Cards Class December 2nd.  We will be making 15 cards.  This class is a great way to get started on your Christmas cards.  I will be posting more information about this class soon.

New cards for my Etsy shop

I've got a few more cards for my Etsy Shop.  I worked last night on a couple more card designs and I'm really happy with the way they turned out.  I used one of my favorite Stampin Up! hostess sets on the first card that I made.  It is called Perfect Presentation and it is a level 2 hostess set.  Stampin Up! has really outdone itself this year with all of their Christmas sets.  There are so many that I want.  Don't forget that the Holiday mini catalog will be ending November 30th so if there are any sets in there that you want order them soon.

I just love the color combo on this one.  The Purely Pomegrate cardstock goes beautifully with the Always Artichoke  colored patterned paper.  The patterned paper is from the Holiday Harmony Designer Series Double Sided Paper that is in the Holiday mini catalog.  The stars are part of the Perfect Presentation hostess set but I only used the star part.

Well, after I finished the card, I just couldn't stop there so I made a few other items to go with the card.

 

I love when presents have large tags and bows so I made an oversized tag with a chipboard star on it.  I used a few more stamps from the Perfect Presentation hostess set and topped it with a beautiful bow of Purely Pomegranate satin ribbon from the Holiday mini catalog.  I was given that ribbon as a gift and I was surprised at how much I love it.  It really gives your projects that extra pop and shine for the Christmas season.

The last item is a favorite of mine.  I love these tins that I found at Papertrey Ink.  They make great little gifts tins for candy after they are decorated with paper and stamps.  I used the scallop punch along with a couple of circle punches and the Do Not Open stamp from the Perfect Presentation set to decorate the top of the tin.  Then I decorated the sides of the tin with paper from the Holiday Harmony designer series paper.
Don't miss the November Paper Pack promotion at Stampin Up! this month.  Buy 3 packs of Designer series paper, get one free.  It's a $9.95 value and a great way to stock up on all the beautiful paper that Stampin Up! has to offer.  There has been no official word but I am guessing that they will have all new paper when the new catalog comes out in January so now is the time to get a hold of anything you have been wanting.

Happy Halloween

Halloween is always a great holiday.  I love watching all kids dressed up and running from house to house.  We had great weather, just a little crisp and cool and hit a ton of houses.  The kids were so excited about their costumes.  Grandma made them again this year and they turned out great.
