Another day in paradise. I could definitely live here, but I probably already said that. At the end of the this page you will see the beginnings of my vacation album. I really wanted to start putting it together during the vacation so I would actually finish it. I love Ali Edwards style so I designed it to be very graphic oriented with spaces for a lot of journaling.
On Maui they have an area where the surfers go. I guess the breaks there are the best on the island. It was a pretty good day for surfing and we enjoyed watching them "hang ten".
These pictures were taken in the a state park. The walk was nice and short and was breathtaking. It was very lush and green here with a beautiful stream flowing at the base of one of the mountains.
The above picture shows the place where we saw the whales. You had to use binoculars and even then it was hard to see but it still a very thrilling sight.
Need I say more. I think not.
My vacation album is just not taking shape. I had a few things designed before I left, such as the kind and size of album as well as the paper. I am using a 7 gypsies 3 tab file folder spiral album. It has lots of pages in it and I will also be able to use my Stampin Up! spiral punch to add things between the pages. I already tested it and it works wonderfully. The paper I am using is from SEI. It is called Dill Blossom and it came with punch outs and textured stickers for the journaling and accents. The paper is beautiful and I love how it is double sided as well as textured.
So on to the pictures. I do not have a cover to show yet as I haven't quite decided how that will look but here are a few pictures of the first couple of pages. The first page is just a post card that shows all of the islands. I thought that would give viewers an orientation of where we were if they had not been to the Hawaiian islands before.
I plan on adding paper to the inside cover as well as an introduction to the album.
On this page I used some of Ali Edward's stamps from Technique Tuesday. They are fantastic.
Yes, this picture was taken from our balcony at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort. It is beautiful here and if you look very closely you can see the ocean. You might be wondering how I got the tiny pictures as well as the others developed so quickly. Well I will be telling you more about that in another post. I bought a mini photo printer. I will give you all the pros and cons later.
Well we are off to go see Pearl Harbor. I have heard it is a fantastic sight to see. I am certainly getting the evil eye for being on the computer so long. :)
Have a great day!
