Today I am sharing two cards that I made with Lori Whitlock's Ornate Pull Out Cards. I used numbers 1 and 4 today but the others are super fun too. You can see more pictures and information about them on Lori's blog.

Hello everyone. I am sharing a scrapbook page today that I created using some new die cuts from Lori Whitlock. The "Project Life" style of scrapbooking is new to me and I am enjoying learning how to manage the supplies and photographs and how to be "creative" with it.
So I had a little fun with some diecuts from Lori Whitlock's store. I combined some shapes and used some fun negative space technique.
To see more closeups and to learn more about how I created a few of the 3x4 cards, please check out my blog post on the Lori Whitlock blog here.

I have a cute little mini book to share with you today. I am using the Mini Album Pinking Edge and some papers and embellishments from Sweet Girl by Lori Whitlock for Echo Park.
We are on vacation right now and heading out to see some snow, so I'm just going to leave you with some pictures of the album. I'll try to get back on the computer later today and give a few more details about each page.
Supply list is at the bottom.
Have a wonderful day!!

Ok, I will admit it. I have a weakness for chocolate. So I'm so glad that most holidays feature sweets as part of the celebration. Easter, of course, is no exception. In fact, it's the best holiday for chocolate and sweets in my book. So when I saw that big chocolate bunny created by Lori, I just knew he would be the perfect thing to put into my woven Easter basket.
First, I cut out the basket. I used some woodgrain paper from Lori Whitlock's paper for Echo Park. The basket went together very easily but I would suggest cutting out two handles so that you can have both sides of the handle look the same and so that it is a bit sturdier. Lori has a video on her YouTube channel that shows you the exact steps to putting this basket together.
Next, I added this cute little bow as decoration. Wow, what fun these little bows are to put together. I am definitely going to do more of these in my future projects.
Here is my little chocolate bunny. I thought it would be fun to cut out his bow a couple more times and attach the extra pieces with foam adhesive. I love the dramatic look. I also cut out a mirror image of him and the bows so that you could see him from both sides.

My last Valentine post for the year is all about this gorgeous heart shaped box that I cut from the Heart Shaped Box file in Lori Whitlock's shop. I love how it turned out, especially using Lori's Love Story paper collection. The file comes in two pieces. The top parts are in one file, and the bottom parts in another. I used the same papers for both top parts but it might look really cute if I had used two different ones.
Another cut file I used was the 3D Flower Set 3. To create this flower I used a fun digital/hybrid technique. Echo Park also releases a digital version of their collections. Not only do they have all of the papers and embellishments in the digital version, they also include the matching plain cardstock in matching colors.
This is where the fun starts!! You might have heard that you can fill your digital die cut files with colors and patterns, but did you know that you can fill the shapes with digital pattern paper?? Sound intriguing?
Well, this is how you do it. Open up the file on your computer that contains the digital paper files that you want to use. Leave the window open and make sure that it is pushed to the side and you can see the paper's thumbnail you want to use. Open up your Silhouette program and place the files that you want to cut on your mat. Then take your cursor over to the file window and click and drag the digital paper file on top of the digital cut file. It might take a second but you will see your cut file being filled in with the digital paper. You have now created a print and cut file. The next step is to make sure that the Registration Marks are turned on. You will need them to print on the paper along with the flowers so that when you put the paper on the mat to cut it will be able to use them to "see" where to cut. Print the file and then place on the mat to cut.
I added a black satin ribbon to finish off the box. I love the color scheme of this paper collection and the black bow really looks good against those bright pinks.
Here is the inside of the box. The files are set up so that you also have a second bottom or top piece to cover all of the seams. This box is really easy and fun to create. It is plenty big enough to put candy or a small gift in. I also think that this box would make a great favor box at a wedding. Just size it down so that it would fit in your hand and fill it with rice, or bubble jars, or candies.

Wow, this is my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Petaloo project, go here.
If you need a couple of gift card holders quick but want them to look like you took hours to make, then the Matchbox gift card holder is just what you need. They are super easy to cut out and put together and they look adorable and oh so fancy. All of the files you need are in Lori Whitlock's shop!
I made three gift card holders and I love that with the same file and a few extra embellishments, I can make them all very different. The paper that I used to make all of them is Lori Whitlock's This N' That Christmas for Echo Park.
Please excuse the nasty camera dust spots on my project. I usually catch and fix them but this one slipped through the cracks. I promise that stunning Print and Cut, Christmas sayings label does not look like that in real life. I used a couple of different Print and Cut files for my gift card holders. If you haven't tried the print and cut feature, you really need to take a try. It just takes a couple of steps.
It's magic, it's fun, and you really need to try it. Plus it makes everything so polished and professional.
I wanted to tell you a little bit about this Poinsettia flower. Another stunning file and so easy. Basically you just cut 1 of each size in red and 1 of the largest size in green. I inked the edges with some red ink for dimension and when I put all of the pieces together I used foam adhesive between the flower layers for added dimension. The leaf cut was not adhered using foam. That piece I just adhere flat to the bottom and largest of the red petals.
The holes that you see on the cover are part of the file. All of the pieces have holes in them that line up so that you can hold it all together with a ribbon, twine, or even brads. Each of my gift card holders is put togther with a different kind of embellishment. I love that there is no glue required. The only glue you need is some to close the pocket up and whatever you might need for the embellishments.
Here are some pictures of the insides of the gift card holder. The file comes with two pockets, so if you want to give more than one gift card you can. You are able to include one or two pockets and it doesn't change the design. I only used one gift card holder on the above card.
And I used two pockets on this one. I also added some scallop borders to the first pocket. That was just an extra little piece that I cut out and glued in the top part of the pocket.
Here is a little closer view of the double pocket and scallop trim.
This is what the Matchbook Cover Gift Card Holder looks like opened up straight up and down. I had a little trouble photographing them while propped up but hopefully you get the idea.
Here is a side view of the matchbook closed. Well I could go on and on about these adorable little Matchbook Gift Card Holders but I guess I better get back to my craft room where I might just whip up a couple more.
Thanks for stopping by.

Welcome to the blog hop!! I am so excited to share my project with you today. I had so much fun making this Christmas Countdown decoration for my kids and the best part, it was so easy to make.
The one thing about Lori's 3D projects that always amazes me is how easy they are to put together. Every piece fits into another easily and in the least amount of steps possible. This 12 Days of Christmas Advent box is constructed out of 12 drawers that fit in 12 sleeves which you glue together in 3 columns and 4 rows. Then there is a back piece that has supports to help fit the assembled boxes in.
In addition to all of the base pieces, there are decorative pieces that you cut out from different colors or patterned paper. I covered my drawers with some pretty plaid patterned paper from the Echo Park's This N That Christmas Collection by Lori Whitlock. Then I cut the outside pieces from as wood styled looking paper from the same collection pack. The numbers are also included with the 10, 11, and 12 being welded together so they are very easy to adhere on the drawers.
After I constructed the box, I decided I wanted to decorate the top. I used the simple tree file in the Christmas Icons Set 2 for the base. I enlarged it so that the bottom length of the tree was about 1/2 inch smaller than the box length. I knew that the tree was going to need some support, so I cut a tall rectangular box, the 3 pencil box, out of kraft paper. I also cut a long piece of kraft paper with my trimmer and scored it in half. I attached the top half of this paper to the tree and the bottom half to the top of the box. Then I adhered the pencil box to the back of the tree. It made everything very sturdy.
Here are some closeup shots of the decorations that are attached to the front of the tree. All of them are cut from 2 of Lori's files. Christmas Icons Set and Christmas Icons Set 2. They were so much fun to cut. I love how perfect their simple design work with the This N That patterned paper. I really don't think I could pick a favorite ornament on my tree, they are all so sweet, and the best part is that there are even more cute images from those files that I didn't get to use yet. I've got my eye on the cutest little penguin for a card that I have in my head. :)
When adhereing the ornaments on the tree, I used foam adhesive to give my project dimension.
This picture shows what the box looks like from the side with a drawer open. Yes, there is already candy inside. :) The boxes are a very good size and could fit quite a few Hershey Kisses or maybe even my favorite, Russell Stover's marshmallow Santas!
So, now that you are all pumped up and ready to make your own Christmas Countdown Advent box, let me tell you a couple of things that you might find very exciting. Just for stopping by, you are going to get a discount coupon code for 30% on orders over $15. That is a great deal, escpecially since the prices for the files that I used are so good already. You will find the code HOLIDAY30 in the graphic below. Use it for any files in Lori's store!
Also, just for stopping by, Lori is giving you 3 free cutting files. They are so adorable. You could actually use them as ornaments on your tree if you wanted to. Well this is my second post for the day. So many things going on this week. My life and my blog have been full!! If you are looking for my Petaloo/Graphic 45 project, just scroll down a little and you will find it.
But I also have another fun project to share with you. A 2013 planner that I created using digital pages and cut files by Lori Whitlock Designs.
I am constantly on the lookout for things that I can make that will make my life more organized. I have a lot going on and it's easier to juggle it all when I use calendars and lists. So here is a brand new project that I have been working on for Organization 2013. It was entirely made from scratch so throughout this post you will see pictures of the different pieces and I will try to explain as much as I can about how I did each.
Here is the cover of my planner. I used For the Record 2 by Lori Whitlock for Echo Park throughout the planner. I just love the colors, the flowers and the fun embellishments in this line. Perfect to carry around all year. To create the planner I used a piece of chipboard which I scored in the middle to create the spine. The size of my planner is 5 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches so I did have to cut the chipboard down a little. The spine is about an inch wide. After I had scored and cut the chipboard, I folded it to look like the outside of a book. Then I attached a two ring binder mechanism that I had bought on Etsy with brads. I also used foam tape and score tape on the back inside of the mechanism to create a strong hold. You can see the brads on the last picture better. Then it was just a matter of decorating all of the areas with patterned paper.
Here is a picture of my first tab from the Divider cut files. I named each of my tabs for a different section as you will see throughout the pictures. Here are my calendar pages. The labels are also from Lori Whitlock and they are so fun and easy to use. I loved mixing up my colors and patterns for each little section. Then I just typed out my words, welded the letters together, and cut them out to fit on the label.
Here you can see the planner pages created by Lori available at JessicaSprague.com. These are all PDF files but you can easily import them into Photoshop, resize them, which is what I did, recolor them, and then print them out. I printed all of the pages out on smooth white cardstock paper.
You can kind of see the how I attached the binder mechanism in these pictures. The brads help strengthen the bond but they really are more decorative than functional. The score tape on top of the foam tape really helped. I'll try to take a picture of how I did it and add it later.
Here is a look at February's page.
Here is my next tab, Grocery Lists. Again I used the label cut files and some fun embellishments from For the Record 2.
I probably will just print out a bunch of these pages on copy paper since they won't be staying in my binder for long.
Last tab is my Notes, probably my most important section in my planner. I always have so many projects going on in my head and things that I want to remember. So, writing it down really helps me to keep everything going smoothly.
This last picture is off the inside of the back cover. I know you can't really tell from the picture but there is a pocket that I made out of patterened paper. I actually built up the sides of the pocket with adhesive and paper so that the pocket would hold a bit more. I think that I will probably put receipts and important papers there until I can file them away.
This last picture shows you the spine a little bit better. The brads are old Stampin Up! ones. They are very heavy and strong. So glad I had something like these in my stash.
Wow, I know that is a lot of pictures. I hope they help if you are trying to recreate a planner like this. All of the files for the cover, dividers, and labels can be found at Lori Whitlock Designs and the Silhouette store. The planner pages are found at JessicaSprague.com and the For the Record 2 papers, sticker and chipboard embellishments are from Echo Park.
I've got plenty more to share in the next couple of days so please stop back by. You can always follow my blog through my feed reader. Just put your email address in the space above or connect with me on Facebook.
Have a great day! Christine
