July Card Kit featuring Magnolia stamps

Each month I put together a card kit featuring adorable stamps that are fun and easy to color with Copic Markers.  Here is a picture of July's card kit.  You will receive all that you need to make this card in your kit, including the stamp, a 6x6 paper pad and embellishments.  This month our stamp is Sweet Princess Tilda from Magnolia Stamps and the paper pad is She Art from Pink Paislee. I just couldn't help but have a little fun with the sentiment and the die cut frog.

Back to School Soon? A Fun Teacher Gift Idea

I've got a fun little idea for you today.  School will be starting again before you know it and wouldn't your child love to present his/her teacher with this fun and functional gift?  Let me show you how easy this gift using SRM Stickers and Tubes are to make.

You will need a Tube from SRM Stickers.  The medium size worked great.  You can see them here.  I did have to sharpen the pencils down a tiny bit so that they weren't too tall to fit into the tube with the top on.

The first thing that I did was to use my Crop-A-Dile to punch two holes across from each other in the top of the sides of the tube.  Then I inserted a large eyelet into each hole and threaded a ribbon in each side and tied a knot.  That forms the lanyard.  Then I created a little tag with a die cut clipboard on it and wrote the teacher's name on it in white gel pen.

Then I decorated the bottom of the tube with school themed stickers from SRM Stickers.

Carta Bella Beautiful Moments Project Challenge

I'm feeling a little rusty creatively due to my long crafting break so I thought that I would create something for a challenge just to give me a jump start.  It didn't hurt that I got some of this lovely Carta Bella Beautiful Moments paper while at the CHA show so I combined three of my favorite products, Carta Bella, Petaloo, and SRM Stickers, to answer the challenge as well as get my creative juices flowing.

The challenge that I am referring to is the Carta Bella Beautiful Moments Project challenge.  The deadline to enter is midnight tonight so I am cutting it close.

SRM Stickers released their 2013 calendar stickers this past CHA and I was able to get some to play with.  I decided to create a desktop calendar to put on my desk.  I am also planning on making a bunch of these for Christmas gifts because it was so easy to make and who wouldn't want a darling little calendar to put on their desk.

This is the front of the calendar.  It is a full 4x6 piece of patterned paper decorated with Carta Bella's Beautiful paper, Petaloo flowers, and SRM Stickers along with some crinkle ribbon and a die cut from my Silhouette.

The inside pages are 3 x 4 inches each.  I cut them down the middle so that you could have different pictures showing throughout the month.  The frame on this page was cut using my Silhouette and it is attached with foam adhesive to give it a little dimension. The right hand side holds the SRM Sticker 2013 Calendar stickers for each month.  Each page is decorated a little differently.  I'll add more pictures of the pages soon.

Here you can see how it is put together.  The kraft piece acts as a stand and is one large piece 6 x 10 inches scored at 4, 5, and 6 inches along the 10 inch piece.  I found this fun idea for the calendar stand from Betsy Veldman. Then all of the pieces are bound at the top with my Bind-It-All.  It is very sturdy and I really like the way it turned out.  

Well, I am feeling the creativity flowing so I better move on to my next project!  I miss all of the fun of CHA but at the same time I am so glad to be home.

My Life in July

Wow, the last three weeks of my life just flew by.  I can't believe it.  So much going on and there was just not one extra minute to post to my poor little blog.  So what's been happening?  Well...

The first week of July I headed to Florida to visit with my family.  My sister, her two kids, and my youngest brother came into town as well from Colorado.  We haven't been all together in about 3 years so it was a big deal.  My cousin from Seattle also flew in at the same time and I finally got to meet her two children, ages 4 and 2 for the first time.  So as you can see there was a lot of catching up to do.  We watched fireworks together on the 4th, celebrated Garrett's first birthday (that was amazing), swam in the pool, ate like kings (fish caught by my brother the night before), enjoyed the beach a couple of times, (Garrett seems to like to eat sand for some reason), visited Busch Gardens, (I stayed home with Garrett), caught fish in the lake behind my Mom's house and just enjoyed each other's company.  It was a week to remember and we are definitely going to let that much time to slip by before we do it again!

Then it was time to get ready for CHA!  I had a little clothes and shoe shopping to do, make n takes to prepare for, and organizing and packing for the trip.  In between we swam some more, took walks outside and played at the beach with the cousins.

Before I knew it the day had come for me to fly to Chicago for CHA!  Well I guess that will need to be a blog post of it's own.  I had so much fun and connected with dozens of wonderful people.  I saw old friends and made new ones too!!  I'll share about CHA soon plus I have some more layout kits to show you that will be posted for sale tomorrow.

I plan to get back to my regular posting so be prepared! I have lots to share!

Petaloo Fourth of July Wreath

I've posted my Fourth of July project using Petaloo flowers on their blog today so please head over there to see the more pictures of the wreath and learn a little more on how I created it.  I had a lot of fun creating this wreath and it was really very easy.

We are heading down to Florida to stay with our families.  I'll get to see my sister and her family and one of my brothers that live in Colorado, as well as my cousin and her family from Seattle, and I am so excited.  I haven't seen them in years and they haven't met Garrett yet so it's going to be a great visit.
